This week our country began its annual recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month. It is my prayer that we all feel more peace in our hearts and community as we honor the resilience, beauty and joy of our Hispanic friends, family and neighbors.

In a recent span of nine days, our world lost three iconic people whose influence will be long felt. The three could not be more different in many ways and yet were alike in staying true to themselves and what they believed mattered most in life for all their lives.

While it’s hard to watch, it’s the ugly truth that abuse is real and happens in churches . I recently watched the Netflix 3-part story just released in August 2026 about Mica Miller.
