Passport Camps Puerto Rico 2026 was a wonderful experience. At the end of July, nearly 150 people, including students, chaperones, staff, and volunteers, stayed at Camp Ebenezer in Cidra, Puerto Rico.
Participants from the United States joined students and adults from Puerto Rico representing nine Baptist churches on the Island.
Mission Work Done At Passport
Passport Camp offers the perfect combination of fun, Bible education, spiritual growth, and mission work. This year was no exception. In collaboration and coordination with Pastor Carmen Waleska Lebron of the Celada Baptist Church, the group served in seven mission locations, four of them being homes of members of the community. Other mission sites included:
Huellas de Vida (Footprints of Life) home, where seniors from the town of Gurabo receive assistance and which is managed by the Municipality of Gurabo
Las Manos de Cristo el Señor (The Hands of Christ the Lord) Foundation, where people from across the Gurabo community are welcomed and receive everything they might need for their homes and families.
Celada Baptist Church, the group renovated the kitchen and common area where community members and participants in the Oasis Program are served.
The amount of work done, the professionalism, and the compassion with which it was carried out demonstrate the power and strength that resides in the young people of our churches.
We at CBF Florida & the Caribbean Islands are immensely grateful to partner and collaborate with Passport Camps on such a vital event for our youth. Let us pray that we can extend Passport Camps to the other Caribbean Islands in our region.
A Thank You Note from the Mayor's Office of Guarbo
I am sharing with you the note of appreciation from the Mayor's Office of Gurabo for the work done, published on the official Facebook page of the Municipality.
The mayor of Gurabo, Vimarie Peña Dávila, thanked the young people of the Passport community project for their extraordinary work, who from July 21 to 23 dedicated their time, talent and effort to beautifying the facilities of the Huellas de Vida Center.
This initiative was made possible thanks to the collaborative agreement between the Municipality of Gurabo and the First Baptist Church of Celada, allowing dozens of young people to experience community service while promoting the physical, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of our senior citizens. Through painting and beautification work, the participants not only renovated a space, but also demonstrated the value of teamwork, solidarity, and commitment to the community.
We thank Passport, Pastor Carmen W. Lebrón, and the First Baptist Church of Celada for making this beautiful project possible, which positively impacts Gurabo and our senior citizens. Actions like these strengthen the sense of community and empathy.
